On behalf of the officers and members of the Association of
Bantayanons in America, Inc, it is my great pleasure to welcome and thank
you all for coming to celebrate with us on our 10th year anniversary celebration.
Almost ten years ago a small group of Bantayanons gathered to have a picnic
party at the residence of Adolfo and Perla Caratao-Roldan in New City, New
York with no formal plan except to socialize. Lo and behold, before the end
on that memorable day, the Association of Bantayanons in America, Inc. was
formed.
The objective of the Association has been to share a portion of Gods blessings we are enjoying here in USA and Canada. Because of our commitment and dedication, we created a college scholarship program to less fortunate students in Bantayan Islands, so they too will be able to fulfill their dreams, hopes and aspirations in life.
Tonight, I am proud to announce that our association has produced ten (10) college graduates and eleven (11) scholars are currently enrolled in various colleges and universities in Bantayan and Cebu City. We have also donated medical supplies and hospital equipment to Bantayan District Hospital worth $6.500.00 over the years.
Our group is small but we are strong, committed and full of compassion for our scholars. Working and bonding together is the key to our success in attaining our goals.
I would like to thank all the officers and members of the association and to all our friends, donors, Bantayanons and non-Bantayanons. Without your support and cooperation this 10th year anniversary celebration would not be possible. To my wife and children, thank you for your support.
To all our friends and sponsors especially Aryty and Globe Telecom our co-sponsors for tonight’s event, thank you very much. Your support and your generosity are greatly appreciated and will help change the lives of our less fortunate Bantayanons.
We look forward to many more years of such endeavors. May all of us strive to accomplish our goals so future generations will follow our example.
Peace and good health.
