Congratulations to all
for your unending support to our 9th annual fund-drive, the event was a great
success. Although some of us were not present at the affair, your help through
solicitation and donations as evidence from the money collected from your normal
contacts (Bantayanons and non- Batayanons) showed that we work as a team. We
don’t have the final report yet, it was clear from our preliminary count that
we should at least equal or surpass our collection from last year.
Most of the businesses or organization failed with in 2 to 5 years. Thanks to
the cooperation of the core members of the association we survived those years.
Not that I’m the president, but next year is a major milestone. It’s our 10th
year anniversary as ABA, Inc. We deserve to be congratulated and a special celebration
for our effort. Thanks to the hard work and leadership of our past presidents
from Ligaya Layon Bataclan, Jean Ybanez Escalona and Perla Caratao Roldan (I
need your 110 percent support). To make this celebration a success we should
have an early planning. Therefore, I need concurrence from all of us, the core
members, who are really the backbone of ABA, Inc. Our goals are to continue
to support our scholarship program plus something charity to Bantayan Islands
(to be discussed during ur first meeting on early March 2006 when we select
the next batch of scholars). To reach our goals, at least a two-day celebration
or three-days if there are out-of –state guests (besides the Capilis, Fargas
& Torres since they are from this area and they are regulars). Our first day
will be a formal (Black tie or Fipiniana) dinner dance w/ live music. On the
second day will be our picnic. If we can attract out-of-state guests(should
be Bantayanons and new in the area), the third day can be a New York City tour
which will include a visit to Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island & Ground Zero.
We can charge out-of-state guests at $500.00 to $600.00 (tax- deductible for
them) and they will be given free 2 tickets for dinner-dance, 1 page of colored
ads in the journal, 1 night to 2 nights hotel accommodation, picnic and NY city
tour (extra to be discussed).
A suggestion date subject for your approval:
A good date to attract out-of-state guests & local Bantayanons would be:
Saturday, July 1st – dinner-dance
Sunday, July 2nd – picnic
Monday, July 3rd – NY City Tour ( only if we have out-of-state guests)
this is a long weekend for July 4th.
The next possible date will be:
Saturday, June 24th – dinner dance
Sunday, June 25th – picnic
Alternate dates – Any Saturday & Sunday in October or November
(but it’s getting colder for picnic).
We may invite a special guest for our 10th Anniversary(special celebration)
a person that can attract from our out-of-state Bantayanons to come to our celebration
and hopefully we can convince these out-of-state Bantaynons to get involved
with the ABA, Inc. Your suggestion (special guest) is always welcome and appreciated.
I need your feedback (pros & cons) ASAP. We need an early preparation from hotel
accommodation to music, journals, tickets and to our special guest for the celebration.
Your input is very important.
Thank you,
